#BringStudentsToThePastScience
Lakbay-Aral is one of the former activities offered by the special science curriculum of Cavite National High School. One of the highlights of the lakbay aral every year is to bring the students to museums wherein they will travel back time where they are going back to basics. With this time travel, they appreciate science more for they track the roots of the technology they are experiencing now. Here are some of our notable history classes done in the context of science.
Aside from bringing our students to various sites highlighting the history of science, our curriculum also provides students the venue to showcase their talents and let other appreciate the culture, heritage, and the richness of the Philippines, viewed in the context of science and its role in preserving the Filipino culture, through science camps. These are not just talent shows but a well-planned way of informing the public that going back to the basics of our living is essential to our progress. Here are some of its highlights:
Bringing students to the community is a tool in letting them understand other culture, beliefs, and their daily living. With the help of the Department of Science and Technology, selected students of Cavite National High School were able to experience this immersion activity in a community primarily thriving through the marine ecosystem around the island, Silaqui in Bolinao, Pangasinan. Students performed a mini-research on the way of living, behavior of the people and their culture as dictated by the environmental conditions they have.
Both biological and cultural diversity are now severely threatened and working for their preservation is a critical task.- Murray Gell-Mann |
